LOOK AT THE AMAZING CAR MY PARENTS BOUGHT ME.
Just kidding. A girl can dream.
Whew, it has been a while since I did a post about my actual life. Sorry about that. There has been a lot happening, but it’s mostly just admin stuff and work. Not nearly exciting to read about, and almost definitely not fun to live through.
It’s hunting season on college – housing hunting. These last two weeks have been fraught with tension, as people try to figure out who they are going to room with. It’s been pretty crazy – friendships falling apart, entire dorms going to war. Okay, maybe not that bad… In any case, fingers crossed that my rooming for next year works out. ERRGH – On to more positive stuff.
I had a wonderful spring vacation – Portland was its usual wonderful self, and also as usual, I hit up Powells and bought WAY too many books. Thank god I don’t live near that store, because I would be so broke, alllllll the time. I picked up a few new reads that I’m really excited for – the sequel to Seraphina, Shadow Scale!! I can’t wait to get a free moment so I can crack it open and enjoy.
My lovely best friend and her equally lovely family were kind enough to host my mom and I for a couple of days. Her younger brother was also kind enough to cook with me and for me. A rising chef on our hands, for certain. The second day started a little slowly (we didn’t actually leave the house until 1), but we grabbed lunch at this amazing restaurant called Andina. The day was pretty rainy, but in a pretty way, if that makes sense. We visited another dangerous store – Blicks, and spent some time walking around Glisan. It was a very portland-esque street, full of fun little shops and quirky items.
Coming back to college has been absolutely nuts. It’s nearing the end of the year (which I can’t believe! the time has flown by so quickly) and everyone seems to be sprinting towards the finish line. We were lucky enough to have a rockabilly band come and perform, and that was a great way to destress. I’m going to keep this post short and sweet – tomorrow I have my first ballroom dancing competition (EEP!) that I’m super excited for. Wish me luck 🙂
