Shake It Off

Hello World!

I don’t about you guys, but there’s something about fall months that means I enter a slump. Come October, I can sleep all day and wake up still wanting to rest some more. Which, considering I’m at college and (theoretically) learning how to become an adult, is A Problem. Still, sometimes I find it incredibly difficult to drag myself out of bed.

One of the things I’ve found that gets my lazy butt in gear is starting the morning (or afternoon, or night) with some sweet tunes. There’s nothing quite like listening to a pumping bass line that gets you motivated, am I right? I know my roommate agrees, considering I’ve been listening to Taylor Swift’s Shake It Off ever since it came out. There’s nothing better than indulging in an impromptu dance party.

Of course, part of my lethargy might be stemming from the fact that I’m seriously starting to miss my home. Being in college is such an amazing adventure, but I’m starting to feel sad about not being able to hug my cat on a daily basis. So that’s why all of the songs below fit the two themes I’ve been thinking about for a while now: getting pumped up about going places and brushing yourself off if you fall down. There’s nothing sweeter than a song getting me seriously excited for all the places my life will be going. I highly recommend listening to them while walking around somewhere and pretending you are in a teenage coming of age movie.

(Shake It Off not included)

I hope you enjoy!

Send Me On My Way

Hello world!

So, here I am, tip-toeing into the world of blogging. I’ve been saying since the beginning of the summer that I wanted to start a blog, but it’s taken me months to actually sit down and get on with things.

There’s a part of me that’s always admired bloggers for how much they make living life an adventure. I’d like to be able to do the same thing – truly and wholly appreciate the amazing people and opportunities in my life. Here I hope to document just how lucky I am.
